かたぼう【片棒】

片棒をかつぐ take part 《in…》; be a partner 《in…》; have [take] a hand 《in…》; 《文》 be (a) party 《to…》; 《口》 be in on 《the dirty work》.

●知らない間にあの男の悪事の片棒をかつがされていたのだ. Before I realized it I found myself helping him in his dirty work [was cornered into acting as his accomplice].

・その仕事, 君が本当にやるんだったら片棒かついでもいいよ. If you're really willing to take on that job, I don't mind lending a hand.

・そんな危ない仕事の片棒はかつぎたくない. I don't want to get involved in that sort of dangerous work.
